Bheed Movie Trailer

Bheed is brutally honest that it will make your heart hurt as he recounts the hardships migrants have gone through during the pandemic. With a difficult story to tell like this, Anubhav Sinha ensures that viewers will feel uncomfortable. Unlike mainstream Bollywood cinema, the filmmaker shies away from drama but keeps the script restrained and tight. Nothing politicized here, it’s all about emotions. Rajkummar Rao performed brilliantly as a policeman. He doesn’t hold back and gives his all. Bhumi Pednekar also did a great job. However, their sex scene makes no sense and may have been deleted.

Movie Story

On March 24, 2020, when a nationwide lockdown was announced and state borders were closed to contain the coronavirus outbreak, some migrants moved to cities to find jobs were forced to return to their homeland. Bheed is an account of exactly what these migrant families have to endure. The movie Bheed begins with a gripping shot of people circling the screen, desperate for a way out, piled up on buses, bicycles, anything that moves. You can see why it’s tempting to use the Score analogy (which Sinha had to remove from the film; there are several other passages that appear to have been censored). Without context, this well-meaning and unforgettable film becomes less of its powerful moving parts.

Bheed tells us through the story of Surya Kumar Singh Tikas (Rajkummar Rao), a young policeman assigned to a checkpoint at one of the state’s borders that is now closed. He is in love with Renu Sharma (Bhumi Pednekar), a doctor and currently caring for symptomatic patients trapped at the checkpoint. There is Singh saab (Aditya Shrivastava) as Rao’s subordinate but clearly does not want to follow orders. Among the migrants on the other side of the barricade.

Movie Review

Anubhav Sinha, along with writers Sonali Jain and Saumya Tiwari, decided to tell the story through the lens of documenting the response of the poor to the pandemic. It’s a fairly new perspective to see contours and trying to cross them is like another score. Because it was. The civilized system turned migrants into workers but never cared for them in the apocalypse. He puts his story at the heart of a context of trust in WhatsApp and doesn’t feel the thrill of seeing an update via the moral compass. Add to that the fact that we are a nation obsessed with fragile feelings of caste and religion.

Sinha has a whole table. You have to appreciate Sinha for easily showing how COVID-19 has just added to the already existing mess and it doesn’t really matter to a very large section of society how proud they are. Rajkummar Rao plays Surya, a poor man who is now a policeman. There’s a lot of nuance in how Anubhav and Raj together set up the man who just learned to take orders and never deliver them locally. Bhumi Pednekar, as a girl from higher up in the hierarchy, had to go through hardships. The actress is amazing at what she does.

Pankaj Kapur is a seasoned artist and does his best to eliminate evil in this scene with words. It used as the voice of those waiting at the border, but it is also stereotypical in many ways. Kritika Kamra, as a journalist, is promising and impressive. But her arc ends at the point where she ends a monologue “Incredible India” and goes no further than that. Journalism has seen a paradigm shift in both negative and positiv ways in this era and its arc doesn’t even serve the tip of the iceberg. Dia Mirza unfortunately gets the most immature part as a divorcee racing with her ex-husband. Get to their daughter and doesn’t care if some people die along the way.
